High-pressure and standard compressed air for plastic processing and moulding

Plastic manufacturing — from PET bottle blow moulding and injection moulding to extrusion and thermoforming — relies heavily on compressed air. Blow moulding processes often require high pressure (25–40 bar), while auxiliary systems and mould cooling operate at standard industrial pressures. AP Compressors supplies and services the full range of compressed air equipment for plastic factories across Nepal, from standard rotary screw units to high-pressure boosters and complete system designs.

  • High-pressure air compressors and boosters for PET blow moulding up to 40 bar
  • Standard rotary screw compressors for injection moulding auxiliary systems and robot actuation
  • Refrigerated dryers removing moisture that causes surface defects in moulded plastic parts

Key applications

1

PET Blow Moulding

PET preform stretch blow moulding requires compressed air at 25–40 bar for the blowing phase. High-pressure compressors or low-pressure/high-pressure booster combinations are standard in this application.

2

Injection Moulding

Injection moulding machines use compressed air at standard pressure (6–8 bar) to actuate ejector systems, core pulls, and hot runner valve gates, and to power robotic part removal systems.

3

Extrusion Lines

Plastic extrusion lines use compressed air for sizing calibrators, vacuum haul-off systems, and pneumatic cutters. Consistent pressure ensures dimensional accuracy of extruded profiles.

4

Thermoforming

Thermoforming machines use compressed air to form heated plastic sheet against moulds. Clean, dry air prevents moisture-related surface blemishes on finished products.

5

Material Conveying

Granule conveying from silos to hoppers and between drying and processing equipment uses compressed air or vacuum systems that require a reliable centralised air source.

Reach out to our team

The blowing phase in PET stretch blow moulding typically requires 25–40 bar. This is supplied either by a dedicated high-pressure compressor or a low-pressure screw compressor combined with a high-pressure booster compressor.

Moisture in compressed air can cause surface defects including blistering, splay marks, and cosmetic imperfections in moulded parts — particularly in hygroscopic resins like nylon and PET. Refrigerated drying is standard; desiccant drying is used for high-sensitivity processes.

High-pressure and standard-pressure systems are usually separate — the booster takes low-pressure air from the standard system and steps it up for blow moulding. We design integrated systems where both pressure levels share a common low-pressure header.

Yes. We supply and service high-pressure compressed air equipment for blow moulding applications. Contact us with your machine make, cycle time, and number of cavities for a correctly sized system recommendation.
