How to choose the right screw compressor

1. Calculate your CFM requirement

Add the CFM ratings of all tools and machines running simultaneously, then add 20–25% safety margin. This is your minimum compressor output.

2. Determine working pressure

Most industrial applications need 7–10 bar. Check the highest-pressure tool in your system and size accordingly – do not oversize pressure unnecessarily.

3. Assess duty cycle

Screw compressors are ideal for 100% continuous duty. If your demand is intermittent, a piston compressor may cost less. If demand varies widely, consider a PM VFD model.

4. Plan for air treatment

Most applications need a refrigerated dryer and coalescing filter downstream. Food, pharma, and finishing require higher-grade treatment – factor this into the system cost.

5. Include installation and AMC

Piping design, receiver sizing, commissioning, and a maintenance contract are part of a complete system. AP Compressors includes this support across all cities in Nepal.

Reach out to our team

Rotary screw compressors provide continuous air supply, operate quieter, have fewer moving parts, require less maintenance, and are more suitable for industrial continuous duty applications compared to piston compressors.

Screw compressor sizing depends on your CFM (air flow) requirement, operating pressure, duty cycle, and future expansion plans. Our experts can assess your compressed air demand and recommend the right capacity compressor.

Yes, we provide complete installation, piping design, commissioning, and startup support for all screw compressors. Our technicians ensure proper setup for optimal performance and efficiency.

Regular maintenance includes oil changes, air filter replacement, oil separator replacement, and periodic inspections. We offer comprehensive AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract) services to keep your compressor running efficiently.

Yes, we maintain inventory of genuine spare parts including air filters, oil filters, oil separators, lubricants, and other consumables. We ensure quick availability to minimize downtime.

Absolutely. Screw compressors work perfectly with air treatment equipment like refrigerated dryers, desiccant dryers, and filtration systems to provide clean, dry compressed air for sensitive applications.
